Extended metaphors:

Walking through the door of my room the beaming light bounces off the pale wooden walls, filling my room with radiance and humidity. Sheets hang off the tall bed struggling to just reach the ground like vines crawling from tree to tree battling to survive. The white duvet huddles in the corner trying to seek warm, from the dense trackless exterior. Clothes creep from the draws like insects emerging from their shells, endeavouring to see the first light. The sky just beams through the small window mounted in the roof, sheltering the room like a canopy form the harsh outside.

Class quote: a draft

As the sunlight stream through the grimly glass that protects the delicate buds inside, the frost creeps close through the door. The only indication of life inside the greenhouse is the build-up of concentration on the windows. Sliding the entrance open, a draft of warm, humid air embraces me. The welcoming arms lead me towards the light, regenerating my mind. The information surrounds the soil to grow my roots to help me grow and learn. The light endeavours me towards my future.
